1999: First magazine column
“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
- After a short-lived (hair) modelling career, I managed to turn my love for writing into a job and become a columnist for a lifestyle magazine.
- A couple of years later, I graduated with a degree in Contemporary and Applied Linguistic with Modern Greek Language.
- A Greek tycoon employed me to be his writer, translator, interpreter and media contacts person.
- An actress trusted me with her PR and media appearances. I also worked at an art gallery.

2007: First successful website
“If it doesn’t exist, build it.”
- The lack of skills and opportunities wasn’t going to stop me from realising my dream of running a website.
- I taught myself basic coding, UX, UI and six months later, I launched a fully fledged property portal.
- I made every mistake in the book and learnt as I went along.
- Over the next couple of years, it attracted estate agents from all over Europe, Thailand and Australia.

2009: First cover story
“It takes a long time to become an overnight success.”
- 10 years after my first column, one of my feature articles made it on the cover of a travel magazine.
- It put me on the radar of some of the world’s biggest hotels and travel brands.
- Prior to that, I wrote, produced, filmed and edited a documentary about homelessness which won an award for Best Short Feature Film.
- I also graduated with a BA in Journalism and did wedding photography for a while.

2010: First freelance client
“Know where you want to go and make sure the right people know about it.”
- An address book full of contacts in the travel sector gave me the confidence to set up my own website.
- The concept was simple – charge businesses for entry in the directory section and create content to attract leads for them.
- I used that model to launch a series of niche websites and became a micro influencer before it was a thing.

2016: First book to reach No1
“When life serves you lemons, make lemonade.”
- After the sudden death of my partner, I wrote and self-published a memoir about my journey moving forward.
- Its success in the charts and feedback from readers inspired me to write the manuscripts for three more nonfiction books.
- A period of self-reflection and planning for the future turned my attention to the legacy I want to leave behind.
- It made me more selective about the projects and brands with which I want to be associated.

2020: First digital transformation
“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.”
- Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to be involved with the digital transformation of a local authority. Then in true Agile fashion, I was drafted into preparing their website for lockdown in response to Covid-19.
- I set up the infrastructure to provide information and access to vital services for both residents and businesses. When lockdown was lifted, I did the same for the area’s reopening.
- I added Content Strategist and Ghostwriter as my main specialisms and relaunched this website.
